Occupational Therapy Profession Celebrates 100 Years!

BYS along with The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) is proud to announce that the profession of occupational therapy is turning 100 years old this year!
Occupational therapy practitioners focus on helping clients perform everyday activities to their highest potential. Along with helping children on the autism spectrum, OTs accomplish goals such as helping babies in the NICU learn to feed, breathe, and swallow so they can thrive; helping stroke survivors relearn how to bathe, groom and cook for themselves and so much more.  Today, more than 213,000 occupational therapy practitioners nationwide help people of all ages participate in the things they want and need to do, through the therapeutic use of everyday activities.  We are so proud to have Occupational Therapists on the BYS team, who help our kiddos succeed every day. Thanks to OTs Samantha Mitchell, Joey Hill, Krystle Eiting, Mia Vaci, Olivia Byjos, Kate Gilman, and Danielle Zeisig for all they do! To learn more about Occupational Therapy at BYS, click here.
