BYS 001 - What is it like to have Autism?

Each episode of the BYS podcast will cover a different topic and include helpful insights for families and parents of children on the autism spectrum. In our first episode, the conversation gives an insight to what it might feel like for a child that has autism and how she identifies certain behaviors in children and works to adapt them.

In this episode, we cover:

• Which action has which response so the parents don’t have to figure out the why.
• Preparation of a therapy model for the wide definition of the autism spectrum.
• The differences of attention and avoidance behaviors and how to spot them.
• How In-Home therapy can sometimes be an advantage.
• How therapists can be educated to respond to a child.
• A parent’s first instinct when they initially receive the diagnoses of autism for their child.
• An important tip on what parents can be doing more of with their child.
